Cardiff Medicals 47-15 Oxford Brookes

The Meds produced what could be the performance of the season in a difficult away trip to 2nd placed Oxford Brookes. The result was much welcomed as the team were still feeling the pain of the 11-10 defeat, in which Brookes slotted a last play penalty to win the match, earlier on  this season. However, the match couldn’t have been more different from the low scoring and gritty earlier encounter. The Meds combined some of this season’s impressive defensive displays with that of the unstoppable attacking play that is so often associated with the club.  This has left them now placed 5th of 8 in a league where any of 6 teams could still be relegated.  A strong finish is therefore essential and could leave them as high 2nd place come the seasons end.
