Imperial Medicals 22 – 34 Cardiff Medicals

Cardiff Meds came away from Teddington Sports Ground with a crucial win against old rivals Imperial Medicals.

Although the Meds have now won 5 from their last 6 matches, the victory was imperative as it comes off the back of a strong league performance against Oxford Brookes that didn’t quite materialise into the win it should have. It was a forceful first half performance, with a hard running but creative centre pairing and an aggressive defence, that ultimately decided the outcome of the match, despite a second half fight back from Imperial.

However the victory was not without cost, 3rd year winger, Owen Morgan, had to be carried off 10 minutes from time after breaking his leg in a tackle just yards from the opposition try line. Everyone at the club would like to wish Owen a speedy and full recovery.

Cardiff Meds now look to their last 32 BUCS Trophy match against Hartpury 3rds to build on this success before clashing with top of the table Glamorgan University on the 7th of December.
